Spring Show 2008 Despite waking up to a blizzard on the morning of the 23rd March, it was too late to cancel so we soldiered on with the “Spring Show” Entries. The In Hand were a little lighter than in previous years but this was hardly surprising. The miracle was that anyone had turned out at all. The In Hand Champion was Steve Cowell’s Highland, Islay May of Forglen, with Jenny and Martyn Crane’s Fell, Townend Candyman, in Reserve. The afternoon saw better entries in the Riddens with the Novice M&M Large Breeds having to be split. The minis kicked off proceedings and the Champion was Zoe Morris and Telaid Playful with Reserve going to Mrs C.Scott’s Denella Brabazon ridden by Gemma Scott. Champion M&M Ridden, completing a notable double was the Cowell’s Highland, Islay May of Forglen, ridden by Kate Turner and the Reserve Bev Simcox’s Welsh Section D, Pentrefelin, Bonny Prince Charles, ridden by daughter Amy. All the children (and quite a lot of the adults) received Easter Eggs and a really lovely day was had by all, despite the worst the good old British weather could throw at us.
