About
us...
The
Northern Counties Pony Association has been around for just over
40 years and was set up with the main aims of supporting shows and
showing and promoting education and knowledge of all things Equestrian.
The
formation of the Leicestershire and Rutland Branch at the end of
2006 has brought the number of Branches to 11. Due to the excessively
wet summer this year, their first show had to be postponed from July
to 30 September but they had a great show with lovely weather.
The
association sends out frequent Newsletters
to Members and a Journal once a year. There is also a Pony Register
which allows members to register their animals for life at a one
off fee of £10.00. This enables them to compete in the Register Classes
at Branch Shows and take part in the Annual Points Awards, presented
at the AGM every March.
The Derbyshire
Branch Committee consists of:
Mr John Elliott
~ CHAIRMAN
Mrs Pam Ashton
~ TREASURER
Mrs Jayne McAuliffe
~ BRANCH AND SHOW SECRETARY
Mrs Billie Harding
~ SHOW SECRETARY
Welcome

The
Autumn Show,
Bakewell Showground - on 14 September. The Show Secretary is

We also intend to hold at least one Training Day per year.
Our
main social event is the Winter Ball.
This year it will be held
on 22 February at the lovely and historic
Hassop Hall,
near Bakewell. This has quickly become a major social occasion and
despite our initial intention to hold it
bi-annually we have been persuaded to hold it annually.
We actively support
Equine Charities like the ILPH, The Brook Hospital and Riding for
the Disabled.
We are a small Committee, frequently stretched to the limit and are
continually looking for likely candidates to help, either by joining
us on the Committee or by helping out on Show days.
